Erakor Island Resort, a Port Vila, Vanuatu Resort
Erakor Island Resort is on a small island in Erakor Lagoon, just opposite Le Lagon Resort. A small ferry (free) commutes hourly between the main island of Efate and Erakor Island Resort, moving slowly across the shallow and protected coral lagoon (I've never seen any waves at all here). The resort features an overwater restaurant, a day spa and several small beaches. The day spa is one of the largest in Vanuatu with a whole array of beauty treatments, massage tables, all set in it's own little garden in the middle of the island. Erakor has accommodation for all budgets, including a dormitory, waterfront bungalows with individual spas (excellent for honeymooners), and deluxe waterfront bungalows (for families or couples). The rooms are fan cooled. Children are welcome, but Erakor is more of a popular location for honeymooners, weddings, and couples or individuals looking for a private, out of the way place to kick back and unwind. From time to time someone hires the whole island - for a big wedding, for an incentive group (the Restaurant doubles as a meeting hall), or just to entertain a group of their friends.
