Tamanu Beach Club, Vanuatu Resort
Tamanu Beach Club is known locally and internationally as one of the most romantic resorts in Vanuatu. It has a French atmosphere and the restaurant overlooking the big white sand beach is always popular - especially with the French residents of Port Vila. Tamanu is often the venue for weddings and honeymoons and has been written up in lots of honeymoon specialty magazines. Each of the 4 small beach cottages are completely different from each other - and all are well designed to stay cool and comfortable with the trade winds that come in off the sea.
Tamanu is located on one of the few nice white beaches on the Island of Efate. There is a fringing reef that almost dries at low tide but with swimming pockets here and there even when the tide is out. This says it all: No phones in the rooms, no TV, mobile phones don't work, gourmet food, discreet but welcoming hosts (Gerry and Jan).
